Behind many a great rural doctor, there’s an amazing spouse or partner and the Backbone of Bush Award recognises those one of kind people who selflessly provide support, give of their time and are passionate about their rural community.
Who are we looking for?
The recipient of the Backbone of the Bush Award:
Provides service to others
Is actively involved in their rural community
Has lived in rural Queensland for a length of time
Has attained personal and professional achievements
Supports their doctor spouse/partner
Contributes to the QRMFN*
(*Note: Having no or minimal involvement with QRMFN will not prevent a nominee being considered for the Award)
How do I nominate?
To nominate someone special for the Backbone of the Bush Award you will be asked to provide basic contact information for the nominated person and a brief description of how that person has:
Contributed to the local community
Achieved on a personal and/or professional level
Supported their doctor spouse/partner

When is the award presented?
The Backbone of the Bush Award will be presented at the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland Conference in Cairns on Saturday 6 June at the David Horn Memorial Gala Dinner.
